Client: Federal Emergency Management Agency, Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program, Nationwide
Under a FEMA Fire Prevention and Safety Grant project, SEDC assisted with the development of a planning process and materials development to reach families and individuals in all 50 states who may be more vulnerable to a fire. A planning guide was created for helpers (staff of service providers, friends, or family members) who can work with vulnerable individuals and families.
This national project provides training and materials to local fire service agencies and partnering community organizations to increase installation and testing of smoke alarms in high fire-risk residences, and initiate more effective fire safety planning by the individuals and families living in those residences – including sprinkler awareness.
