SEDC developed emergency response and evacuation plans for several Washington, D.C.-owned or operated buildings including historic Eastern Market, the Unified Communication Center Building, and One Judiciary Square, which houses key District agencies considered vital to the operations of the D.C. government.
To develop these plans, SEDC conducted site assessments, identified potential threats, and created International Fire Code compliant plans. The plans identified specific actions steps that occupants must take in the event of specific emergencies including fire, suspicious package or a bomb treat. At the request of the building management specialist, SEDC also conducted training for building staff and occupants who would be impacted in the event of a major incident.
