Client: Protective Services Division, Department of General Services, District of Columbia
SEDC developed an emergency evacuation plan for the Protective Services Division offices at The People’s Building. We conducted a thorough assessment of the office, including identification of potential threats within and near the building, and then developed actionable procedures to ensure safe and efficient egress. All procedures exceeded International Fire Code standards, and met FEMS and D.C. ORM requirements.
The evacuation plan specified action steps that officers, support personnel, and contractors must take in the event of an emergency including fire, suspicious package, or bomb threat. SEDC also created evacuation maps and signage for the 5th floor offices.
